Seattttttle ♥

Well, I am off to Seattle for the weekend!! Art, Hutch and I are going to check it out and see if I can picture myself living there. We are going to check out the campus (which I hear is just beautiful), scope out a few apartments (think old world, wood floors, crown molding and lots of character) and just enjoy ourselves, in what could be my future home!!!

According to weather.com it is supposed to be rainy and cold (well, colder than Scottsdale, which is registering at a lovely 99 degrees today) so I guess I will be experiencing Seattle in all it's rainy glory.

I am nervous and excited at the same time. This is such a huge decision, but a fun one at the same time. It is all happening so fast. The application process seemed never-ending, but now that I have been accepted it seems as though time is flying by.

I am hoping to make a decision this weekend and will keep you posted :) Either way, start saving those frequent flier miles, because regardless of where I end up, I always love visitors

Have a wonderful weekend.

Thankful Thursday

Whoa. Talk about being thankful! I made a fairly decent (ok, BIG) mistake at work last week, which I just noticed today. I accidentally had a client sign a contract for the wrong dates!!! This potentially could have resulted in major cancellation penalties/fees for the client, and most likely cost us their business.

The hotel had drafted the contract for the wrong dates, I didn't catch their mistake during my review, the client signed, the hotel signed and BOOM! It was finalized. Upon realizing my mistake I called the hotel and braced for the worst. Lucky, lucky, lucky for me, the hotel sales person apologized to me for her part in the mistake, waved any cancellation fees and re-booked the program at the correct dates. Whewww! Hotel is happy, client is happy, crisis averted!

I am thankful for honest people, who go out of their way to make your life a bit easier. This mistake could have potentially cost me a big client, but thankfully I was working with this amazing sales person! Hallelujah!

What are you thankful for?

1. Hutch, Art and I are going to Seattle this weekend. We're gonna check out the campus, meander through the neighborhoods and hopefully make my decision! This is all happening so fast, but I am very excited for this new chapter in my life!!

University of Washington Campus
2. Cabooooooo is coming up soon! So excited for a relaxing week with some of my favorite ladies, Maui Babe, sun and sand. And re-fried beans. Obviously.

Brown, bra, bra, brown, bra, brown paper bags

L.O.V.E. Cabo ♥
3. My sister isn't moving to Texas!! Woohoo!!! This means I will get to see Baby Alex as much as I want while I am home after Cabo!!! And every other time that I make my way back to Sacramento for this, that or the other reason!

Sweet Baby Alex
4. Ann is graduating on June 9th! How exciting! She is headed to college at St. John's University, a small private college in NYC! I remember graduating and heading to ASU, what a fun and exciting time!!

Ann, all grown up!!!
5. Lionel is coming back to the mainland, for like 2 weeks, including my birthday!!! I haven't seen him since Grandpa's funeral last August. Wayyyy too long for my liking!

Lionel, Lindsey and I a few years ago in Maui
6. I get to spend 5 days at home in Fair Oaks after Cabo. What a perfect way to recover after being in Mexico. Unlimited time with my amazing family!!! Plus getting to see Missy's new place and hopefully go to Family Day for the 49ers (and more importantly GOLD RUSH GIRLS!!)

Lindsey and I, last year at Family Day
7. Mike's sister is moving back to California and while I am so very sad that Wyatt won't be around anymore, I am excited that Mike and I will have the opportunity to have some time to ourselves!

Mike and I
8. I am going to a informational session at Phoenix Children's Hospital in June. I am excited about the possibility of becoming a volunteer and helping out with those in need.
9. My birthday is coming up!! While we don't have any exciting plans (just yet) I am happy to be able to spend it with my two favorite men, Lionel and Mike.
10. I get to get my hair done while I am home in Sac!! My stylist is probably going to want to give me a bob, because my hair is so dead, but it is long overdue!

T.G.I.F.

Ahhhh, the long awaited weekend is here!! Woohoo! I don't know about you, but I plan to relax, all weekend.

Tonight Mandy and I are going to make a very quick appearance at my friend Matt's going away/birthday party at some bar in Old Town. From there we are going to head to Mandy's new place. We're gonna rent Valentines Day and enjoy Sprinkles cupcakes and homemade sangria. Yumm!!

Saturday might consist of a bit of shopping for our Cabo trip prior to spending some quality time with my man friend. I'm thinking Pita Jungle, if I can talk him into it :) He is babysitting 3 cute pups this weekend, fun!!

one of my very favorite pictures of us
Sunday my (sometimes) very nice boss is treating my to a spa day at one of the very best spas in town: JW Marriott Camelback Inn. I am so very excited! Besides the awesome spa menu, the views are unparalleled. Turning off my cell phone and enjoying a relaxing day at the spa and then by the pool. The life of a bathing beauty :) Sunday night Mike and I are going to watch his friend Dave at his new Sunday night gig at another bar in Scottsdale. Love live music!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! You deserve it!!

Thankful Thursday

Ohhhh hey there! Time for Thankful Thursday :)

This week I am thankful for "Me Time"

Last night I turned my phone off and enjoyed some time alllll to myself. I went to the gym, went tanning, did a few loads of laundry (GTL), took a suuuuper long shower, gave myself a mani & pedi (if you haven't ever used a PedEgg, you must try it! Kinda gross, but seriously works wonders), caught up on my People Magazine subscription and watched Hope Floats.

I woke up this morning with a whole new outlook on life :) Well maybe that's a bit dramatic, but either way, it was nice to have a night free of interruptions and all to myself!

What are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful that I am starting to feel human again. I have been sickly all week with some sort of stomach bug, yuck! I went to the doctor yesterday and she gave me some medicine and I slept for 15 hours! Haha. I woke up this morning fever free and feeling a bit better.

What are you thankful for?

6. i like people names, for dogs.

My current obsessions is lemonade, but the raspberry ice is also pretty tasty. Put one in your water bottle or vodka soda (mine & missy's favorite move), soon!

Thankful Thursday

I know I am a bit late, but I was in a bit of a funk last week, and when Thankful Thursday rolled around, I was having a hard time thinking of anything that I am thankful for. Brat, I know. So here it is; a bit late.

I am so very, very, very, above and beyond thankful for my daddy. We've had the chance to chat more often lately, and he always makes me feel so much better about whatever it is that I'm worrying about. I don't know if its those good Maui vibes that he sends me or his ability to always make me laugh, either way, such a great and positive thing. I love that he has found his "happy place" in Maui, but I miss him more than words can say. I am looking forward to having him back on the main land for a few weeks in June, including my birthday!!!

Thanks Dad, for helping me realize that if I follow my heart, I will make the right decision, that those mean girls aren't worth my tears and wasted energy, for my daily "Aloha" text message, for making me laugh, for keeping me grounded, for teaching me to be smart with money, for always pushing me to do my best, for reminding me that every little thing, is gonna be alright and above all else, thanks for being you :)

Love you.
